Mrs. Helen Spirn, the founding Principal of SKA and Head of School, embodies the character traits and Torah ideals which we hope to instill in our students. Under her expert direction and enthusiastic leadership, the Stella K. Abraham High School for Girls is renowned for its outstanding student body, warm and nurturing faculty and uniquely personal atmosphere, where pursuit of academic excellence and religious growth are paramount. A graduate of Yeshiva University, she served as Associate Principal at Bruriah High School for Girls in Elizabeth, New Jersey for thirteen years prior to assuming the leadership at SKA. An involved and caring educator, she is a member of the Advisory Council of the Yeshiva University Institute for University-School Partnership and is admired for the personal interest she takes in the emotional, educational, personal and spiritual growth of her students. It is not unusual to find her in the halls or in the auditorium, talking with students to better understand their goals and dreams, or in Israel, visiting with her graduates. She is recognized in the Jewish educational community as an innovator and many of her programs have been adopted by yeshiva high schools throughout the country. The pulse at SKA is a function of her vision. Her impressive track record as teacher, role model, principal and friend is a source of pride to the Stella K. Abraham High School for Girls.
